Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as an ambassador of commercial analytics within the organization, influencing and embedding data-driven insights to inform resource allocation and strategic decision-making
  • Prepare strategic and issue-based presentations for senior management, internal stakeholders, and global partners
  • Develop and implement targeted channel-specific sales strategies and activation tools across brands and market segments
  • Identify market growth and profit pool opportunities to inform channel priorities and resource allocation
  • Establish, monitor, and report on overarching business and brand KPIs, tracking program and initiative effectiveness
  • Maintain a knowledge library of commercial insights in partnership with the Chief Commercial Intelligence System (CCIS) Centre of Excellence
  • Monitor business news and market changes to shape strategic decisions and identify competitive implications
  • Optimize Route-to-Market structures by analyzing existing models and identifying efficiency and market penetration opportunities
  • Assess RTM performance and recommend improvements to coverage, route efficiency, execution standards, and distributor focus
  • Conduct sales route performance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with Commercial Education to identify training needs and develop tools that enhance sales team capabilities
  • Develop commercial performance dashboards and narratives supporting decision-making by Sales, Brand, and leadership teams
  • Partner with analytics and data teams to incorporate commercial business rules and objectives into the broader MHUSA data strategy
  • Support operationalization of commercial data products within MHUSA to drive adoption and usage
  • Create training agendas for commercial reporting tools and frameworks in partnership with the commercial strategy and education teams
  • Continuously optimize commercial data assets and identify synergies across datasets to maximize business value
  • Educate and influence business stakeholders to adopt data best practices and support the data transformation journey for MHUSA
  • Stay current with advances in data technology and practices, identifying appropriate applications for the organization
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Brand, Commercial Marketing, and Business Intelligence teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with distributors and internal stakeholders
  • Approach work with flexibility and agility, adapting to rapidly evolving business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business analysis, business intelligence, or business planning with a strong focus on Route-to-Market strategies and sales effectiveness
  • U.S. wines and spirits experience in the three-tier distribution system (preferred)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of analytics, data visualization, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities
  • Ability to design complex analyses including elasticity modeling, ROI analysis, optimization, and segmentation
  • Proven progressive thought leadership and strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and deliver high-impact insights
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively identify and leverage trends and influences in the consumer packaged goods sector
  • Track record of managing relationships with cross-functional teams and business leaders to elevate strategic impact
  • Ability to educate and influence business partners at all levels regarding data best practices
