Moët Hennessy seeks Global Public Affairs Lead for Trade, Market Access & Taxation in Paris. Senior role overseeing international trade policy, excise taxation, and market access strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Moët Hennessy's strategy on international trade, taxation, and market access; anticipate emerging risks and opportunities arising from tariffs, trade disputes, non-tariff barriers, and regional/national taxation initiatives
- Develop and execute advocacy strategies supporting the company's global priorities; shape positions on trade, taxation, and market access issues; lead engagement with governments, regulators, international organizations, EU institutions, and trade negotiators
- Lead engagement on free trade agreements and strategic trade negotiations; identify opportunities arising from evolving trade frameworks, including market access improvements and regulatory convergence; support commercial teams in maximizing value from trade agreements
- Lead engagement on excise duties, alcohol taxation, and related fiscal policies; monitor taxation trends and legislative developments affecting wines and spirits; develop evidence-based advocacy positions on fiscal issues
- Serve as the company's internal reference point on trade, taxation, and market access; build awareness and expertise across public affairs, commercial, finance, legal, supply chain, and regional teams; develop tools and methodologies supporting decision-making
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in public affairs, international trade, taxation, government relations, market access, regulatory affairs, or related fields
- Demonstrated success influencing policy outcomes and managing complex stakeholder environments
- Deep understanding of international trade policy, WTO frameworks, EU and bilateral trade negotiations, and market access issues
- Strong knowledge of excise taxation and alcohol-related fiscal policies
- Understanding of geopolitical dynamics and their business implications; ability to combine policy expertise with commercial understanding
Skills
Experience
Minimum 15 years of professional experience in public affairs, international trade, taxation, government relations, market access, or regulatory affairs within multinational companies, trade associations, EU institutions, governments, consultancies, or law firms. Demonstrated success influencing policy outcomes and advising senior business leaders on strategic matters within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
