Joseph Phelps Vineyards Client Engagement Specialist role in Saint Helena, California—luxury wine sales, CRM expertise, $30–$33/hr.
Role & Responsibilities
- Proactively generate revenue through thoughtful, relationship-based client outreach while achieving sales goals established by management
- Deliver gracious, highly personalized service to new, current, and previous clients with expertise-driven wine recommendations based on individual preferences and purchase history
- Enter sales orders into Commerce7 and maintain an up-to-date consumer database with accurate credit card information and shipping/billing addresses
- Set follow-up tasks and document customer preferences, purchasing habits, and sales opportunities in the CRM system
- Monitor order progress through the fulfillment portal and manage returned orders promptly and accurately to resolution
- Respond in a timely manner to all calls, texts, and emails regarding direct sales orders and investigate customer concerns with swift follow-up
- Communicate with warmth, discretion, and polish in a manner consistent with Joseph Phelps Vineyards' brand voice and luxury positioning
- Provide comprehensive recommendations on food pairings, optimal drinking windows, wine storage, and serving techniques
- Deliver elevated, luxury-level service across all client-facing interactions, ensuring every touchpoint reflects the sophistication of the Joseph Phelps experience
- Represent Joseph Phelps Vineyards as a polished and professional brand ambassador in every interaction
- Support membership coordination and client inquiries under the direction of the Membership Manager
- Educate customers on Phelps Preferred opportunities and benefits
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of telephone sales, clienteling, luxury hospitality, or premium wine industry experience
- Exceptional sales and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to connect authentically by phone, in writing, and in person
- Warm, engaging presence with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- Demonstrated ability to build long-term client relationships through personalized outreach and attentive follow-up
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient
- Experience using CRM systems and computer-based project management tools
- Ability to work at a desk and use a computer for extended periods
- Flexibility to work onsite at the winery for events and business needs as required
