Moët Hennessy Wine Estates (Bodega Numanthia) in Valdefinjas, Spain seeks a temporary Cellar Worker for the 2026 harvest (one-month contract).
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive, sort and destem incoming grapes during the harvest; assist with grape reception logistics.
- Support fermentation operations: pigeage, remontage and tank management throughout vinification.
- Perform racking (trasiegos), transfers and other cellar handling operations with precision and adherence to quality controls.
- Handle and move barrels safely during filling, cleaning and storage operations.
- Operate and assist with production machinery and material handling equipment under supervision.
- Carry out daily cleaning, sanitation and basic maintenance of cellar equipment to meet hygiene and safety standards.
- Follow strict quality-control procedures and report deviations to the cellar manager; work flexible hours including weekends as required by the harvest schedule.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in similar roles within a winery or beverage production environment.
- Certified experience operating a forklift (carretilla elevadora) and proven safe materials-handling practice.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and handle moderate loads safely.
- Availability for intensive, seasonal work including weekends and variable shifts during the harvest.
- Commitment to workplace safety, hygiene procedures and quality control protocols.
Skills
Experience
Minimum three years' hands-on experience in cellar or harvest operations, including experience with barrel handling and operating material-handling equipment during vintage seasons.
Education
No formal degree required; vocational training or coursework in oenology, viticulture or related agricultural/food-production fields is advantageous.
