Assistant Brand Manager – Malts at Moët Hennessy India in Mumbai. Lead brand marketing strategy for single malt whisky brands.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute brand plans in partnership with the Marketing Manager, translating brand strategy into clear priorities, initiatives and execution plans
  • Drive distinctive brand experiences by developing innovative ideas across experiential activations, promotions, communications and PR
  • Own key brand workstreams end-to-end, ensuring strong execution, cross-functional alignment and delivery against agreed objectives
  • Deliver market-leading promotional activities and provide efficient, timely and accurate marketing support for assigned brands
  • Achieve brand image, ATL & BTL objectives and maximize consumer value perception through locally driven assets
  • Build relevant PR and digital social media plans in line with strategic objectives in partnership with key agencies
  • Conceptualize and execute scalable promotion ideas per brand in on-trade and off-trade domestic channels including hotels, restaurants, MOTs and retail
  • Lead visibility and merchandising initiatives across on-trade and off-trade channels; conduct regular market visits to tap key opportunities
  • Lead development of trade activation and cycle communication to drive key quality groups and manage marketing communication cycle inputs
  • Review customer activation effectiveness in all channels against pre-decided ROI matrix and develop post-cycle recommendations
  • Lead and oversee all Promo Pack and POSM management respecting maison order deadlines and in-market shipment dates
  • Understand P&L and work cohesively with the sales team to build plans ensuring growth within brand guidelines
  • Manage and monitor A&P expenditure, ensuring committed expenses remain within agreed and approved parameters
  • Lead management and monitoring of POS, promo packs, limited edition and clearance lines ensuring correct stock classification and trade activation planning
  • Negotiate with vendors on quotations to secure acceptable rates, quality standards and timelines
  • Conduct regular analysis and review of brand performance with clear understanding of opportunities, threats and competitor strategies
  • Prepare periodic Business Review reports and presentations
  • Track competition including distribution width benchmarked against other brands, pricing across channels, and PR and activation activities
  • Communicate effectively with and motivate the sales team to ensure smooth and effective execution
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Maisons and regional teams
  • Liaise with external parties including activation, event, digital and PR agencies and POSM materials production companies
  • Execute events that demonstrate and amplify brand DNA as required by brand plans
  • Act as brand ambassador and communicate brand credentials to external parties

Qualifications

  • MBA in Marketing from a premier institute
  • Minimum 5 years of strong experience in brand marketing, preferably within alcoholic beverages
  • In-depth knowledge of brand planning, marketing and ROI across mass and digital media
  • Significant exposure to the digital ecosystem with understanding and appreciation of luxury marketing
  • Proficiency with Power BI and MS Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Natural curiosity and passion for the wines and spirits industry
  • Clear communicator at all levels with ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dynamism and ambition with an outgoing, socially confident demeanor
