Moët Hennessy seeks an Area Sales Manager in Mumbai to lead on‑trade key account growth for luxury wines and spirits.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets and commercial KPIs across assigned key on‑trade accounts in the Mumbai territory.
  • Manage and grow distribution and points of presence within nominated key accounts, optimising product placement, visibility and merchandising standards.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with decision‑makers at national, regional and outlet level to protect brand equity and maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Plan and execute brand activations, promotions and trade marketing programs in partnership with the marketing team, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and budgets.
  • Monitor account financial health, manage credit and collections issues in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager and National Credit Manager to minimise bad debt.
  • Provide regular market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing, promotions and consumer trends; recommend timely tactical and strategic responses.
  • Drive sales force leadership by targeting activities for maximum ROI, identifying new sales opportunities and recommending adjustments to trading terms where appropriate.
  • Ensure photographic and documented evidence of merchandising and promotional execution; report performance and feedback to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of commercial sales experience, with demonstrable key account management responsibility; experience in wines & spirits or FMCG on‑trade preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering distribution growth.
  • Strong negotiation skills and high commercial acumen with the ability to identify and exploit profit opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills; ability to influence at senior levels within customer organisations.
  • Solid people management capability and disciplined approach to maintain standards across accounts.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional Indian languages is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across the assigned territory as required.

Experience
