Miu Miu Merchandising Senior Manager role in Tokyo, managing buying, inventory, and sales strategy across Japan and regional markets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the local merchandising team to achieve sales and sell-through targets across all channels
- Monitor and analyze sales performance on daily, monthly, and annual bases to meet sales budgets and identify growth opportunities
- Develop and execute buying strategies in alignment with regional management and headquarters directives
- Identify and curate target product assortments tailored to regional market demands and consumer preferences to maximize sales potential
- Conduct product training sessions for regional teams and store personnel in advance of seasonal launches and throughout the selling season
- Lead special projects including seasonal capsule collections, in-store events, store restyling initiatives, pop-up activations, and gaisho events
- Oversee inventory levels by store to optimize stock turnover, maintain balanced inventory for carryover stock, and achieve seasonal sell-through targets
- Execute comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to inform merchandising decisions and trend forecasting
- Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with visual merchandising, retail operations, stores, and other business divisions to ensure cohesive execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification
- Business-level fluency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken)
- Minimum 10 years of merchandising experience within luxury fashion and retail sectors
- Demonstrated expertise in retail environments with comprehensive knowledge of retail operations, processes, and best practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in sales data analysis and market trend assessment
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of merchandising experience in luxury industries, with hands-on knowledge of retail processes, retail environment management, and proven success in buying strategy development and execution. Prior experience managing regional or multi-market merchandising operations is preferred.
Education
