Michael Kors seeks a Shop Manager for its Houston Galleria boutique in Macy's. Lead retail operations, drive sales, and mentor staff.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain active sales floor presence to support and engage clients with personalized service
- Deliver elevated customer experiences through consultative selling, product expertise, and clienteling initiatives
- Host client events and experiential activations to strengthen brand loyalty and drive traffic
- Empower, motivate, and train retail partners on product knowledge, sales techniques, and visual merchandising excellence
- Align shop operations and performance with Michael Kors business standards and corporate directives
- Ensure visual merchandising and store presentation standards are consistently maintained to brand specifications
- Develop clear and organized communication protocols with District Manager, corporate office, and retail partners
- Manage flexible scheduling and operational logistics, including peak retail periods and holiday commitments
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of retail management experience
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship requirements
- Ability to maintain flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and high-traffic retail periods
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and stoop as needed
- Ability to handle merchandise and operate point-of-sale equipment
- Ability to visually assess merchandise and customer needs
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members in written and verbal formats
- Ability to work in busy retail environments with bright lighting, music, and peak traffic conditions
Skills
Experience
2+ years of retail management experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. Demonstrated success in leading teams, driving sales performance, and maintaining brand standards. Strong understanding of luxury retail operations and department store dynamics preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Retail management certification or related coursework preferred but not required.
