Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations
- Support completion of the RI&E action plan by working closely with stakeholders and maintaining up-to-date compliance records
- Implement safety policies, standards, and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents, injuries, and property damage
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on standard methodologies and ensure understanding and compliance
- Provide expert mentorship and advice to warehouse staff on safe handling of equipment, appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ergonomic practices
- Lead cooperative efforts with the operations team to ensure the site achieves all safety metrics and performance targets
- Engage with operations leaders to ensure safety and operations strategies are properly integrated and implemented
- Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings, root causes, and recommendations for preventive measures; ensure all incidents are reported in the company's incident management system
- Respond promptly to all safety-related incidents and coordinate remedial actions
- Support the activities of the Emergency Response Team (BHV) and participate in planned training and exercises
- Stay current with industry trends and changes in safety regulations, recommending vital updates to the safety program as needed
- Collaborate with the Safety & Security team in all key distribution center activities as required
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety (formal certification or equivalent professional credential)
- Proven experience in warehouse safety or similar role in a fast-paced distribution environment
- Broad experience in Safety Management with comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to translate safety vision and policy into practical working methods
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify potential risks and develop effective preventive measures
- Proficiency in MS Office tools to track safety performance and generate reports
- Fluency in Dutch and English (required)
- CPR and First Aid certification with prior BHV (emergency response) training (preferred)
Skills
Experience
Broad experience in Safety Management with proven track record in warehouse safety or similar role within a fast-paced distribution environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently, translate safety vision into practical methodologies, and implement effective preventive measures. Prior experience in team and/or project management preferred.
Education
Relevant formal qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent professional credential). CPR and First Aid certification, as well as BHV (emergency response team) training, are highly desirable.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from EUR 40,000 to EUR 60,000 per annum.
