Michael Kors (Capri Holdings) seeks a Finance Coordinator, Store Development in the NY Metro Area to manage capital project accounting and invoice processing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own project-level accounting activities for store development, including validating invoice accuracy, contract compliance, and approved funding.
- Code invoices to CapEx or expense categories and route for timely approval in accordance with company policies.
- Submit approved invoices to domestic and international partners to ensure prompt and accurate payment execution.
- Maintain and update master project budget templates with general ledger data and approved changes to keep budgets current.
- Partner with Corporate Finance to prepare, submit and track Capital Request Forms (CRFs) ensuring compliance with capitalization and governance standards.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities in collaboration with Accounts Payable and Accounting.
- Reconcile Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounts with the Fixed Assets accountant and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Build and maintain relationships with Store Design, Construction, Visual Merchandising, Facilities and external vendors to support timely payments and project delivery.
- Collect and coordinate complete Tenant Allowance documentation from contractors and vendors; submit accurate packages to Retail Finance.
- Maintain audit-ready financial files and continuously identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance reporting quality.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or project support, preferably within retail, real estate or capital projects.
- Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and advanced formulas.
- Familiarity with project accounting concepts, capitalization policies and Construction-in-Progress (CIP) reconciliation.
- Experience with procurement/invoice platforms such as Coupa and construction/project management systems such as Procore is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, sense of ownership, and the ability to partner cross‑functionally with technical and commercial stakeholders.

1–2 years in finance, accounting or project support roles; experience in retail store development, construction accounting, or capital projects is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline preferred.
