Customs Specialist position at Capri Holdings in Venlo, Netherlands—manage customs operations, compliance, and EU trade requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day customs operations and support the customs team in maintaining a compliant environment for smooth inbound and outbound customs processing
- Manage product classification and ensure proper implementation and maintenance of applicable customs licenses in accordance with current legislation
- Execute customs improvements aligned with agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive process optimization
- Coordinate with external customs authorities in shipping and destination countries to ensure regulatory compliance
- Liaise with internal departments across the Venlo Distribution Center, global customs and trade compliance teams, and external stakeholders including logistics service providers, customs agents, and forwarders
- Provide compliance support for EU import and export requirements and maintain adherence to customs and trade regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies (CITES, Chamber of Commerce) and regional suppliers of systems and products
Qualifications
- Higher level education (HBO) or equivalent
- Customs education certification 'Vakopleiding Declarant' from EVO or equivalent customs education qualification
- Minimum 3 years of customs experience, including AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) and bonded warehousing
- Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated expertise in PC-based software including MS Office, WMS (MA-WMi), and DMS (LSP)
- Knowledge of forwarding, transportation, and logistics processes
Skills
Experience
At least 3 years of customs experience, including hands-on work with Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) designations and bonded warehouse operations. Demonstrated experience in customs compliance, product classification, and coordination with customs authorities. Proven ability to manage customs documentation and support inbound/outbound trade flows.
Education
Higher level education (HBO) or equivalent. Customs education certification 'Vakopleiding Declarant' from EVO or equivalent customs education qualification is required.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from EUR 55,000 to EUR 60,000 per annum.
