Michael Kors seeks a Barista (Jet Set Lounge) in New York, NY — full-time role at Rockefeller Center crafting beverages and delivering guest-focused service.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to brand standards while maintaining consistent product quality and presentation.
- Deliver elevated, personalised guest service—anticipating needs, telling the brand story, and educating guests on beverages, brewing methods and related retail products.
- Operate café and retail point-of-sale systems, perform cash handling, and support daily opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and inviting café and retail environment; uphold health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with retail colleagues to ensure seamless service between café and store operations and assist with inventory management.
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform varied tasks with speed and excellence during peak traffic periods and promotional events.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in guest-focused settings (restaurants, bars, specialty retail, hospitality, theaters or kitchens).
- Proficiency in reading, speaking and writing English.
- Authorization to work in the United States (employer will not sponsor visas).
- NY Food Handler Certificate and knowledge of Department of Health food-service and safety regulations.
- Availability for a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and high-traffic retail days.
Skills
Experience
At least 2 years of frontline experience in hospitality, food service, or specialty retail delivering guest-focused service. Demonstrated ability to multitask in high-volume environments and to operate POS and cash-handling procedures. Prior experience in a brand-driven retail or café setting is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/hospitality certification or barista training preferred.
