Michael Kors is hiring an Associate Planner in the NY Metro Area. Manage sales, inventory, and profit planning for full-price apparel and footwear; $75K–$85K USD.
Role & Responsibilities
- Initiate financial strategy analysis and develop strategic plans for the full price sized apparel and footwear business across a rapidly growing retail portfolio
- Create seasonal, monthly, and weekly sales, inventory, markdown, and gross margin forecasts; monitor performance and partner with buying teams to develop merchandise strategies aligned with targets
- Conduct actionable business analysis by classification and subclass at both top-line and individual store level; develop strategies with buying partners to drive sales and achieve gross margin profitability
- Manage and update monthly open-to-buy planning documentation
- Recommend merchandise purchases based on comprehensive retail business analysis prior to each market; provide SKU count targets by class and store cluster; forecast inventory needs based on key style performance
- Collaborate with buying teams and store operations to analyze business performance by location, maximizing sales and stock opportunities; monitor initial assortment flow and reorders by classification and style
- Support allocation strategies to enhance productivity and manage omni-channel inventory optimization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in Retail Planning, Store Planning, and/or Allocation
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Advanced retail mathematics and financial forecasting expertise
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Demonstrated passion for fashion trends and consumer behavior
Skills
Experience
3+ years in Retail Planning, Store Planning, and/or Allocation within the fashion or retail industry, with demonstrated success in financial planning and merchandise strategy development.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or a related field.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to USD 85,000 per annum.
