Michael Kors seeks an Assistant Store Manager for its Florida Mall store in Orlando to support daily retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising and staff development, and to assume store leadership when the Store Manager is absent. The role includes direct supervision of sales and stock supervisors and requires a minimum of 3 years of retail experience, including 1–2 years in specialty management. Full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with the store’s daily management and operations across sales, customer service, operations, administration, communication, marketing and merchandising; assume the Store Manager’s responsibilities in their absence.
- Meet personal and store sales goals; track, monitor and communicate business results.
- Ensure associates deliver elevated sales and service, lead by example, and develop personal and team sales techniques to maximize sales.
- Maintain sales-related policies and procedures; demonstrate in-depth merchandise knowledge and develop product knowledge among selling staff.
- Maintain an active interest in the fashion industry and market trends.
- Ensure associates deliver the highest level of customer service; build and maintain repeat clientele using a personal client book and supporting staff in using theirs.
- Resolve client problems and complaints promptly and effectively; assist sales associates with customer service issues, including dissatisfied customers, returns and defective merchandise.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on risk management, physical security, store cash controls and inventory management.
- Support staff training in appropriate register use and maintenance; understand and execute management register functions.
- Participate in inventories and execute cash-control procedures, including bank deposits, safe funds and petty cash.
- For offsite drivers only, drive product to and from the offsite location as needed.
- Implement and maintain merchandising and visual directives; keep the selling floor neat, clean, organized and aligned with the correct visual image.
- Ensure deliveries are processed promptly; identify and communicate product concerns; communicate inventory needs to support business goals.
- Assist with staff recruitment, training and development; help ensure payroll integrity and proper payroll processes.
- Continually evaluate associate performance and provide ongoing feedback to support results.
- Resolve human resources issues promptly and effectively, partnering with HR when necessary.
- Support and follow up on training programs and seminars.
- Ensure professional image and grooming standards reflect the brand and are consistently upheld.
