Michael Kors seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Galveston, Texas to lead sales, operations, and team development in a dynamic retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed personal and store-wide sales targets in collaboration with store management
- Monitor and communicate business results while implementing corrective actions
- Establish and model elevated sales and customer service standards across the sales team
- Develop advanced sales techniques and mentor associates to maximize revenue generation
- Ensure strict adherence to all sales policies, procedures, and brand protocols
- Cultivate in-depth product knowledge and train selling staff on merchandise features and benefits
- Monitor fashion industry trends and market dynamics to inform merchandising and sales strategies
- Deliver premium customer service and resolve client issues with professionalism and efficiency
- Build and maintain a robust client book and assist associates in developing their clientele
- Address customer complaints and manage returns or defective merchandise promptly
- Partner with store manager on risk management, physical security, cash controls, and inventory oversight
- Train and supervise staff on proper point-of-sale system usage and management functions
- Execute cash control procedures, including bank deposits, safe reconciliation, and petty cash management
- Lead inventory counts and support ongoing stock management initiatives
- Implement and maintain visual merchandising directives across the selling floor
- Ensure the store environment remains clean, organized, and visually aligned with brand standards
- Oversee timely processing of product deliveries and identify merchandise concerns
- Communicate inventory needs to support business objectives
- Recruit, onboard, and develop sales and stock supervisors
- Evaluate team performance through continuous feedback and coaching
- Resolve HR issues in partnership with the Human Resources department
- Ensure compliance with company image, grooming, and professional standards
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of retail experience
- One to two years of specialty retail management or supervisory experience
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Strong understanding of point-of-sale systems and cash management procedures
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop retail teams
- Excellent customer service and problem-resolution skills
- Knowledge of fashion industry trends and product categories
