Michael Kors is hiring an Allocator in London. Responsible for merchandise allocation, replenishment and inventory management to meet retail targets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage inventory across the product lifecycle, including initial allocation, replenishment, consolidation and end-of-life processes to maximise sell-through and minimise ageing.
- Set and monitor store-level inventory positions based on store capacity, attributes, seasonality and selling curves; control flow of initial assortments and reorders by classification, delivery and style.
- Identify and communicate sales opportunities and stock liabilities by store; recommend buy quantities and stock levels aligned to current sales trends and key selling periods.
- Operate basic replenishment programs and ensure robust stock positions on core, seasonal basics and item programs; partner with Buying to monitor sales, stock penetration, clearance and ageing.
- Take ownership of warehouse and aged inventory by door; escalate and resolve shipping or logistics issues that could affect store performance.
- Collaborate closely with Planning, Buying and store teams to recap business at the door level and ensure merchandise assortments meet local merchandising strategies.
- Develop actionable analysis and reports by classification and subclass at store level to inform allocation strategy and drive sales and gross margin by door.
- Recommend procedural and system enhancements for the allocation and replenishment functions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills (required) with ability to manipulate large datasets and produce actionable reports.
- Strong numerical, analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across Buying, Planning, DC and store teams.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
- Previous allocation, merchandising or inventory management experience within fashion retail preferred.
- International mindset and a positive, results-driven attitude toward change and continuous improvement.
Skills
Experience
Previous experience in allocation, merchandise planning, inventory management or a related commercial role within fashion retail is preferred. Demonstrated success partnering with Buying and Planning teams to drive store-level performance is desirable.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience in retail allocation/merchandising.
