Alexander McQueen seeks a General Merchandising Manager in New York to lead retail and wholesale merchandising strategy and team leadership.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a comprehensive merchandising strategy that integrates Retail and Wholesale objectives to drive sustained, profitable growth.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, using sales performance and market signals to optimise assortments, allocations and in‑season reactions.
  • Lead seasonal buying and assortment planning with disciplined Open‑to‑Buy (OTB) governance, allocation strategies and store clustering.
  • Develop and operationalise the Wholesale commercial strategy, partnering with key accounts to drive sell‑in, sell‑through and inventory health.
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to translate commercial priorities into elevated in‑store and partner presentations that protect brand integrity.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, converting performance insight into actionable plans and clear commercial decisioning.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop a high‑performing merchandising and wholesale team; implement succession planning and continuous skill development.
  • Manage budgets and forecasts across Retail and Wholesale, partnering with Finance to align inventory, margin and business targets.

Qualifications

  • Twelve plus years of progressive merchandising and buying experience within luxury or premium fashion, with substantial leadership exposure across Retail and Wholesale channels.
  • Proven expertise and network within the U.S. wholesale landscape, including experience with luxury department stores and specialty retailers.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing OTB, margins, inventory health, and profitable account plans.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder influence and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
