Alexander McQueen seeks experienced Women's Footwear Designer for maternity cover role in London, supporting luxury shoe design and innovation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the complete women's footwear design process from concept to final product, including sketching, prototyping, and technical specification development
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of fashion trends, market demand, and competitor products to inform design direction
  • Collaborate with the Head of Footwear Design, product development suppliers, material suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility and quality standards
  • Explore and evaluate new materials, techniques, and technologies to create innovative and cutting-edge footwear designs
  • Prepare and present design concepts and collections to the Head of Footwear Design and key stakeholders, articulating design vision and rationale
  • Ensure all designs align with Alexander McQueen's brand aesthetic, values, and overarching vision for a cohesive product line
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality and creative standards
  • Incorporate feedback from internal teams and external partners to refine designs and ensure market readiness
  • Support product photography shoots and campaign development

Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience in women's footwear design within the luxury fashion industry
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Design, Footwear Design, or a related discipline
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of innovative and high-quality women's footwear designs
  • Proficiency in design software including Adobe Creative Suite and CAD programs
  • Exceptional creativity and meticulous attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of fashion trends and consumer preferences in luxury footwear
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
