Role & Responsibilities
- Create original design projects aligned with creative briefs, brand identity, and collection timelines
- Articulate aesthetic vision and stylistic direction to creative staff, fabric departments, pattern makers, technicians, and graphic designers
- Develop design proposals encompassing materials, accessories, and finishes consistent with brand DNA
- Direct and participate in fittings, communicating design intent and wearability requirements to pattern makers and coordinators
- Refine and modify creative proposals following collaborative discussions with coordinators and project managers
- Monitor market signals, consumer trends, and evolving cultural narratives to inform design direction
- Contribute to continuous professional development through team activities and digital innovation initiatives
- Integrate sustainable development practices into design processes and operational decisions
- Deliver seasonal innovation through original and creative contributions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent academic qualification; Master's degree is a plus
- 1 to 3 years of proven professional experience in similar roles (design office assistant, fashion designer assistant, or fashion designer) with luxury or contemporary brands
- Advanced ability to conduct in-depth, culturally sophisticated research across fashion, design, art, and lifestyle fields
- Comprehensive knowledge of fashion world, brands, industry dynamics, and ability to identify and interpret key trends aligned with brand DNA
- Advanced sketching skills using both hand techniques and digital tools
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate)
- Strong technical knowledge of womenswear ready-to-wear design development, including materials research, graphic/print design, finishes, and embellishment
- Knowledge of garment construction and prototyping using moulage, draping, and traditional techniques (valued skill)
- Outstanding organizational abilities with proven capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively across art direction and coordination functions
