The Customs Officer serves as the operational custodian of import-export compliance, managing all documentary and procedural requirements for the movement of merchandise to and from customers. This position ensures the accurate and complete administration of shipping information and documentation while coordinating with internal departments and external partners throughout the supply chain. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of customs operations, including the preparation and verification of customs documents, management of intra-EU and extra-EU transfers, and production of regulatory and financial reporting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage import-export processes, including the preparation of customs documentation and invoice verification
- Collect and maintain documentation verifying merchandise departure from the European Union
- Oversee traceability and documentation collection for intra-EU and extra-EU transfers, with appropriate follow-up on outstanding items
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory frameworks and operational techniques relevant to assigned markets
- Determine appropriate accounting treatment for transactions in compliance with civil law requirements and accounting principles
- Produce regulatory and financial reporting, monitoring cash flows to ensure sound fiscal health and economic performance
Qualifications
- Accounting diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience in related roles
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- English language skills at B1 level or higher
- Strong time management and deadline adherence
- Demonstrated collaborative and team-working capabilities
