Marni seeks an experienced Corporate Controller in Milan to lead financial reporting, budgeting, and controlling functions. €60,000–€65,000 annually.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the controlling and business performance agenda, ensuring strong financial governance and high-quality management reporting across channels, regions, and functions
  • Act as finance business partner, supporting commercial and operational teams in evaluating profitability by channel and region, monitoring discount trends, markdown policies, and margin evolution
  • Support strategic evaluations including store openings and closures, impairment testing, and break-even analysis in collaboration with the Finance Director
  • Own the monthly financial reporting cycle, delivering accurate and timely P&L performance analysis, management reporting, and variance analysis versus budget, forecasts, and prior year
  • Identify root causes of performance deviations and translate financial data into actionable insights for senior management and business stakeholders
  • Coordinate annual budget and in-year forecast processes, working with commercial, retail, and operations functions to define planning assumptions and assess risks and opportunities
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to support strategic and commercial decision-making
  • Oversee industrial controlling and G&A monitoring, including production costs, COGS, inventory valuation, and operating expense control
  • Validate standard versus actual cost analyses, monitor manufacturing efficiency variances, and ensure reconciliation of structural costs against approved budgets
  • Manage and develop two direct reports, setting clear annual objectives aligned with business priorities and the Group financial calendar
  • Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, data flows, and analytical tools, including SAP, BI platforms, and Power BI implementations

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • 7 years of experience in Controlling or FP&A roles
  • Background in fashion, luxury, retail, or structured consumer goods environments
  • Hands-on experience managing budget and forecast processes in multi-channel and multi-country organizations
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience with SAP and BI platforms (SAP BW, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with retail KPIs including LFL sales, UPT, AVT, conversion rate, MDS%, and sell-through
  • Fluent English

Experience

7 years of experience in Controlling or Financial Planning & Analysis roles, with a strong background in fashion, luxury, retail, or consumer goods environments. Demonstrated experience managing budget and forecast processes in multi-channel and multi-country organizations, and hands-on expertise with SAP, BI platforms, and advanced analytical tools.

Education

Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification.

The successful candidate will be located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from EUR 60,000 to EUR 65,000 per annum.
