Marni seeks an Assistant Buyer in New York, NY to support North America merchandising, assortment planning and full‑cycle buying (Salary: $69–73k).
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly sales analysis and ongoing performance tracking to inform assortment and replenishment decisions
- Identify market trends, customer demand signals and growth opportunities across North America
- Manage assortment planning tools and maintain detailed assortment documentation and line plans
- Support the full-cycle buying process from concept and line planning through to execution and in-season management
- Recommend markdown strategies and reorders to optimize full-price conversion and inventory flow
- Collaborate closely with Digital, Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Retail teams to align assortment and store-specific strategies
- Partner with Global Merchandising on seasonal initiatives and participate actively during market campaigns
- Process and track shipments and orders, following up on deliveries to stores
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail buying or merchandising (RTW category experience preferred)
- Bachelor's degree
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical capabilities and comfort working with sales and inventory data
- Hybrid working model with NYC office presence 3 days per week
- Preferred: strategic, results-oriented mindset with strong organisational and communication skills
- Preferred: passion for luxury, fashion trends and an entrepreneurial approach to merchandising

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in retail buying or merchandising, ideally within ready-to-wear; demonstrated experience supporting full-cycle buying, assortment planning and in-season inventory optimisation.
