Market Specialist position at MAKE UP FOR EVER in Boston, MA. Drive sales and beauty education at Sephora. $60K–$65K annual.
Role & Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales objectives through consumer engagement, product demonstration, and conversion optimization within assigned territory
- Develop and execute tailored regional sales strategies aligned with MAKE UP FOR EVER brand positioning and LVMH objectives
- Conduct comprehensive beauty advisor training on product knowledge, brand differentiation, selling techniques, and artistry to ensure consistent service delivery
- Manage gondola presentation, inventory levels, and visual merchandising to maintain full stock and optimal product placement
- Execute in-store events in partnership with Sephora, leveraging market insights to optimize scheduling and drive consumer participation
- Provide weekly performance reporting to Regional Manager on sales metrics, training delivery, event activity, and field observations
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Sephora store teams to foster brand advocacy and positive perception
- Monitor Assortment Cycle Count (ACCR) reports and proactively address inventory and stock discrepancies
- Coordinate quarterly sales calendars and complete administrative documentation including monthly expense reports
- Lead by example through exceptional makeup artistry skills and professional personal presentation standards
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of field sales, retail management, or leadership experience, preferably in cosmetics or prestige beauty
- Sephora experience highly preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop retail staff to achieve sales goals
- Basic to intermediate makeup artistry and application skills
- Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and willingness to travel within territory
- Physical capability to handle and transport product boxes of reasonable weight
- High level of professional personal appearance and grooming standards
- Deep understanding of retail market dynamics and current beauty trends
Skills
Experience
Minimum two years of field sales, leadership, or retail management experience, preferably within the cosmetics or prestige beauty industry. Sephora experience is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate solid understanding of sales principles, product knowledge, retail operations, and event execution within a cosmetics environment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or equivalent retail/beauty professional certification preferred.
