Junior Operations Controller at Make Up For Ever (Levallois Perret, France) – Cost analysis, inventory optimization, and financial control for operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly closures: calculate provisions and analyze variance from forecast
- Monitor inventory: calculate depreciation and analyze stock variations in coordination with Production and Supply Chain teams; update and share depreciation tracking reports by product range for S&OP
- Analyze industrial performance: track absorption and procurement variances with Procurement and Supply Chain stakeholders
- Conduct monthly operational reviews: communicate budget summaries, highlight alerts, identify risks and opportunities, and propose corrective actions
- Track CAPEX development deployment and update depreciation calculations
- Develop operational budgets in collaboration with operational stakeholders: understand divisional priorities, validate budget assumptions against company strategy, challenge and optimize costs
- Consolidate and challenge data related to Production, Inventory, and Logistics
- Project inventory and depreciation based on production and distribution plans; analyze product range evolution
- Challenge development CAPEX assumptions and calculate depreciation
- Manage forecast alignments based on current performance
- Coordinate with Category Financial Controller during annual standard cost updates (challenge production plan projections, transport, and indirect cost absorption)
- Participate in new product launch financial processes: align development cost objectives (R&D, Packaging & Manufacturing) and logistics costs; conduct post-launch reviews
- Calculate and monitor logistics refactoring rates for subsidiaries on monthly and quarterly basis
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience in cost calculation and analysis
- Degree from business school, university (economics-management), or accounting professional qualification
- Previous role ideally in industrial cost control
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle)
- Advanced Excel skills (macros, formulas, pivot tables)
- Experience in cost accounting or centralized overhead control preferred
- Knowledge of beauty and/or fashion industry preferred
Skills
Experience
2 to 3 years of professional experience in financial control, industrial cost accounting, or operations finance. Previous exposure to manufacturing or logistics environments and central overhead cost management preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in economics, management, accounting, or equivalent professional certification (e.g., accountant qualification). Graduation from a recognized business school is also appropriate background.
