Maison Margiela is recruiting a Head of Collection Merchandising — RTW (Men's & Women's) in Paris to lead global collection strategy and commercial planning.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and lead the global merchandising strategy for Men's and Women's Ready-to-Wear collections, aligning creative intent with commercial objectives.
- Construct seasonal collection plans with coherent category depth, assortment logic and SKU architecture.
- Partner closely with Design, Product Development and Supply Chain to ensure concept-to-market alignment and delivery.
- Apply performance analysis, market intelligence and client insights to refine assortment, pricing and lifecycle decisions.
- Oversee pricing architecture, category segmentation and product lifecycle management across collections.
- Lead showroom strategy and actively participate in global buying sessions to shape wholesale and retail assortments.
- Coordinate with regional merchandising teams to integrate local market specificities while maintaining global consistency.
- Manage, mentor and develop a small merchandising team (two direct reports), cultivating a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Prepare and present strategic recommendations and collection reviews to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of merchandising experience within the luxury fashion sector, with proven ownership of collection-level strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise across Ready-to-Wear for both men's and women's categories.
- Proven team leadership and experience working in cross-functional, matrixed organisations.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with refined product sensitivity and aesthetic judgement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement at executive level.
- Fluency in French and English required; Italian is a strong advantage.

8–10 years of progressive merchandising experience in luxury fashion, with direct responsibility for Ready-to-Wear collections across men's and women's categories and prior experience leading or mentoring a small team in an international, matrixed environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Merchandising, Business or a related discipline; advanced degree (MSc/MA/MBA) or equivalent professional experience preferred.
