MAC Cosmetics seeks a talented Makeup Artist for a 32-hour per-week part-time temporary position at the Douglas boutique in Roermond. The role combines artistry with retail sales excellence, requiring candidates to deliver personalized beauty consultations, provide professional makeup applications, and drive store sales targets. Candidates must demonstrate 1–2 years of sales experience (preferably in beauty) and 2–3 years of professional makeup artistry expertise, coupled with deep product knowledge, trend awareness, and exceptional customer service skills.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized, memorable makeup consultations and in-store beauty experiences that inspire clients and reflect the MAC brand ethos
- Apply professional makeup artistry to enhance client features and demonstrate product capabilities
- Educate clients on makeup techniques, trends, and product benefits while recommending suitable items
- Drive sales performance by identifying opportunities, confidently recommending products, and achieving individual and team sales targets
- Maintain extensive product knowledge and stay current with the latest makeup trends and social media innovations
- Represent the luxury beauty brand with authenticity, professionalism, and creative flair
- Support store operations and contribute actively to team performance during all store hours, including evenings, weekends, and special events
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of sales experience, preferably in the beauty or cosmetics sector
- 2–3 years of professional makeup artistry experience with demonstrated technical skill
- Certification or degree as a makeup artist and/or esthetician (preferred)
- Expertise in delivering luxury, personalized service experiences
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining service excellence
- Strong social media awareness and knowledge of current beauty trends
- Fluency in Dutch and English
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special store events
Skills
Experience
Candidates should possess 1–2 years of sales experience in the beauty industry and a minimum of 2–3 years of professional makeup artistry practice. Experience delivering luxury-level customer service and expertise in color theory, product application techniques, and client consultation is essential.
Education
A degree or professional certification as a makeup artist and/or esthetician is preferred.
