MAC, a prestige beauty brand under Estée Lauder Companies, seeks a skilled Makeup Artist to deliver personalized, inspirational in-store experiences at an Edgars Menlyn location. The role combines creative and technical makeup expertise with exceptional customer service, in-store events coordination, and visual merchandising excellence. Certification in makeup artistry and retail experience are preferred but not essential; the brand welcomes applicants demonstrating strong creative and technical foundation through amateur-level or equivalent experience.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide personalized makeup application services and expert product recommendations to educate and delight customers
• Create welcoming and inspirational in-store experiences through consultative, authentic customer engagement
• Coordinate and execute high-impact in-store beauty events and promotional activities as part of the store team
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and store presentation to ensure competitive distinction and brand excellence
• Operate retail point-of-sale systems and process customer transactions efficiently
• Work collaboratively within a high-performing team to achieve store performance targets

Qualifications

• Makeup artistry certification or previous retail makeup experience (preferred but not required)
• Demonstrated creative and technical expertise in makeup application, even at amateur level
• Ability to provide inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service consistently
• Capacity to work flexible retail hours including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and special events
• Experience with retail point-of-sale software systems
• Proof of right to live and work in South Africa

Experience

Experience with makeup artistry or retail beauty is preferred but not essential; candidates demonstrating equivalent creative and technical expertise through amateur-level background are welcome.

Education

Makeup artistry certification is desirable but not required; secondary education or equivalent is expected.
