MAC seeks a highly skilled Makeup Artist to deliver personalized, inspirational in-store experiences at the Cavendish location. The successful candidate will combine technical makeup proficiency with authentic customer engagement, provide product education through consultation and demonstration, and collaborate with the team on impactful events and visual merchandising. This part-time opportunity welcomes both certified makeup artists and passionate individuals with amateur-level experience who demonstrate strong creative and technical abilities, alongside comprehensive training and development within the prestige beauty sector.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide personalized in-store makeup consultations and applications, combining creative and technical expertise to deliver an inspirational customer experience
• Educate customers on product benefits and makeup techniques through engaging demonstrations and one-on-one services
• Collaborate with team members to execute impactful in-store events and promotional activities that drive sales and brand awareness
• Maintain exceptional visual merchandising standards throughout the counter and store environment to ensure competitive distinction
• Operate retail point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently during transactions
• Support team performance goals while maintaining high standards of customer service during retail hours including evenings, weekends, and special events

Qualifications

• Certification in makeup artistry or previous retail makeup experience (preferred but not required)
• Demonstrated ability to provide inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
• Proficiency with retail point-of-sale (POS) software systems
• Capacity to work flexible retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events in a fast-paced environment
• Right to live and work in South Africa with proof available upon request

Skills

Experience

Amateur to professional-level makeup application experience is welcome; formal retail makeup counter experience is desirable but not required for candidates demonstrating strong creative and technical expertise.

Education

Certification in makeup artistry is preferred but not required; candidates with demonstrable technical and creative expertise in makeup application are encouraged to apply.
