A skilled makeup artist combines creative and technical expertise with a passion for customer service to deliver personalized in-store beauty experiences at MAC. The successful candidate will educate and delight customers through application demonstrations and product recommendations, contribute to impactful in-store events, and maintain exceptional visual merchandising standards. This part-time position offers an entry point into prestige beauty retail for self-motivated individuals seeking progressive career development.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide inspirational, personalized makeup application services and product consultations that educate and delight customers
• Demonstrate creative and technical makeup expertise through in-store transformations and beauty tutorials
• Execute point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate with the team to conceptualize and deliver high-impact in-store events and promotional activities
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and store presentation to differentiate the boutique from competitors
• Work flexibly across retail hours including evenings, weekends, and special events

Qualifications

• Demonstrated high level of creative and technical makeup expertise (formal certification or amateur level experience acceptable)
• Proven ability to deliver inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
• Availability to work retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience with retail point-of-sale software
• Right to live and work in the United States

Skills

Experience

While formal certification in makeup artistry or previous retail makeup experience is preferred, candidates with amateur-level expertise who demonstrate strong creative and technical skills are welcome to apply. Experience with retail environments and customer-facing roles is advantageous.

Education

Makeup artistry certification or comparable training is preferred but not required; high school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
