MAC is seeking a skilled Beauty Advisor to deliver personalized, inspirational in-store makeup application and consultations at the John Lewis Oxford Street location. This part-time role combines creative makeup expertise with customer service excellence and includes operational support responsibilities. The successful candidate will contribute to in-store events, maintain visual merchandising standards, and educate customers on prestige beauty products in a high-performing retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide expert makeup application and personalized beauty consultations to customers
- Educate clients on MAC product benefits and techniques through engaging demonstrations
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and assist with in-store event execution
- Support operational tasks including point-of-sale transactions and inventory management
- Work collaboratively with the retail team to achieve sales targets and customer satisfaction goals
- Ensure the counter maintains high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Qualifications
- Demonstrated creative and technical makeup expertise at professional or advanced amateur level
- Ability to provide inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
- Capacity to work flexible retail hours including weekends and special events
- Experience with retail point-of-sale software
- Proof of right to live and work in the United Kingdom
Skills
Experience
Makeup artistry certification and/or previous retail beauty experience is preferred; however, applicants with amateur-level makeup expertise and strong customer service backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
Education
Formal qualification in makeup artistry is desirable but not required; equivalent demonstrated expertise is acceptable.
