As a freelance Beauty Advisor for MAC, part of the Estée Lauder Companies portfolio, the successful candidate will deliver makeup application, skincare advice, fragrance and hair consultations to discerning customers in a prestige beauty retail setting. The role combines creative expertise with personalized customer engagement to create inspirational shopping experiences while maintaining visual merchandising excellence and supporting in-store events.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide makeup application services, skincare consultations, fragrance guidance, and hair consultations tailored to individual customer preferences
- Create an inspirational, welcoming, and personalized in-store experience that educates and delights customers through authentic engagement
- Contribute to high-impact in-store events and activations as part of a performing sales team
- Maintain superior visual merchandising standards throughout the department to ensure competitive differentiation and brand excellence
- Operate retail point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store sales targets and brand objectives
Qualifications
- Proven ability to provide inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
- Ability to work flexible retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with retail point-of-sale software systems
- Legal right to work in Canada (proof required)
- Demonstrated creative and technical expertise in beauty or retail consulting
Skills
Experience
Retail makeup experience is preferred; however, candidates with amateur-level expertise who can demonstrate strong creative and technical proficiency are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in prestige beauty or luxury retail is valued but not essential.
Education
Certification in makeup artistry is desirable but not required. Candidates with alternative beauty qualifications or self-taught expertise demonstrating high technical and creative standards are welcome to apply.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is CAD 18.50 per hour.
