MAC is seeking an inspirational Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a sales team and achieving store targets for sales, customer service, and operations. The successful candidate will coach and develop Sales Associates while managing retail operations including inventory and cash reconciliation. This role represents the first step toward a long-term career in prestige beauty retail.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in leading and coaching the sales team to achieve all sales, customer service, and operational targets
- Develop and mentor Sales Associates to reach their full potential through personalized coaching and feedback
- Manage retail operations including inventory management, stock control, and cash reconciliation
- Provide inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service to enhance brand loyalty
- Ensure compliance with retail policies and procedures across all store operations
- Perform retail sales activities across shifts including days, nights, weekends, and special events
Qualifications
- Proven retail experience, preferably within cosmetics or prestige beauty
- Previous supervisory experience with a demonstrated track record of coaching and mentoring others
- Strong retail operations knowledge including inventory management and cash handling
- Experience with retail point-of-sale (POS) software systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to provide inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
- Flexibility to work retail hours including evenings, weekends, and special events
- Right to live and work in South Africa
Skills
Experience
Proven supervisory and retail operations experience gained in a fast-paced retail environment, preferably in cosmetics or prestige beauty. Track record of successfully coaching and mentoring sales associates to achieve sales and customer service targets.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; retail management certification or advanced education preferred.
