LVMH Watches & Jewelry seeks a Senior Accountant in Tokyo for inventory, fixed assets, monthly close and tax compliance. Hybrid, full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close activities including journal entries (accruals, prepaids, cost reclassification), intercompany reconciliations and submission of financial reports to Group HQ.
- Manage inventory accounting: process invoice postings for inventory purchases, and control freight, duty and inventory valuation postings.
- Administer fixed asset lifecycle: registration, depreciation, disposals, transfers and related tax postings/payments.
- Ensure tax compliance and manage tax filings and reporting, including preparation of transfer pricing documentation and supporting tax audits.
- Support internal and external audit requests and maintain processes to comply with local and international accounting and legal requirements.
- Participate in special projects and provide accounting support to the local finance team to strengthen controls and process efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum five years of professional experience in finance, accounting, auditing or business analysis within a corporate environment.
- Japanese CPA or Tax Accountant qualification is a plus.
- Working knowledge of IFRS; understanding of US GAAP is advantageous.
- Fluent in Japanese and English (TOEIC >800 preferred).
Skills
Experience
At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate finance function, with demonstrated exposure to month-end close, inventory and fixed asset accounting, tax filings and audit support. Prior experience with SAP is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or Accounting; Japanese CPA or Tax Accountant is advantageous.
