LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics R&D Lab Formulation Intern in Shanghai. Support cosmetic product development and formulation science.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support formulation development by assisting the team in creating new cosmetic products such as creams, lotions, serums, lipsticks, liquid foundations, and other skincare and makeup formulations under guidance
- Prepare prototypes and conduct routine laboratory tests under supervision, including measurements of pH, viscosity, thermal and aging stability, and texture analysis
- Participate in sensory evaluation sessions to assess product attributes such as spreadability, absorption, fragrance, and skin feel
- Accurately record experimental results and support updates to digital tools and internal databases to ensure precise data management and documentation
- Help organize and catalog internal reference products and competitive market launches to support innovation and trend analysis through product benchmarking
- Contribute to daily laboratory operations by managing raw material inventory, ensuring proper labeling, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Support the development and maintenance of standardized templates and systems for tracking suppliers, materials, and formulations across projects to ensure consistency and traceability
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline
- Basic understanding of chemistry principles (organic, physical, or analytical) or physico-chemical properties of formulations
- Familiarity with laboratory practices and instrumentation (training will be provided if needed)
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
- Curious mindset with a passion for science, skincare, beauty trends, and product innovation
- Ability to follow protocols precisely and work safely in a laboratory setting with mandatory EHS compliance
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Experience
No prior professional experience required; however, foundational laboratory experience or academic exposure to cosmetic science is valued.
Education
Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
