LVMH Fashion Group — New York: Manager, HR Controlling responsible for payroll, budgeting and headcount reporting across Fashion Group Americas.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead payroll controlling for Fashion Group Americas: ensure accurate posting of payroll entries by company, department and account, consolidate payroll actuals across all brands and countries, and explain major variances versus budgets and prior periods.
- Develop, own and refine payroll budgets and strategic plans (BU/R1/R2, strategic plans) in partnership with brand leadership, HRBPs, Maison HQs and Finance teams.
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual HR and payroll reports, including ADP headcount reporting, Excel headcount reports to HR & Finance, and the Annual Social Report; ensure alignment on HC, FTE and classification rules with Maison HQs.
- Perform variance analysis, bridges, and driver analysis for payroll costs (salaries, bonuses, commissions, employer contributions, benefits, social charges, dismissal charges) and provide clear commentary for stakeholders.
- Manage funding processes for retirement plan contributions (e.g., Fidelity 401(k), Sun Life RSP), including use of forfeiture funds and reconciliation of contribution files.
- Design, support and improve budgeting tools and templates (e.g., Allshare) to increase automation, reduce manual effort and minimise error.
- Cross-reference and reconcile employee data across HR systems to validate figures and narrate the story behind numerical movements.
- Provide general HR Finance support for ad-hoc requests: prepare bridges, variance analysis, presentation decks and executive summaries.
- Validate and oversee processes performed by the HR Finance Analyst; coach and develop direct reports as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HR controlling, HR finance, payroll controlling or related finance functions; experience in a multi-brand or multinational environment is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with experience managing large datasets and multiple budget iterations.
- Practical knowledge of payroll processes, retirement plan funding (401(k)/RSP) and employer-side payroll accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis and to synthesise quantitative findings into clear commentary for HR and Finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential employee and payroll data.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and to coach or develop more junior colleagues.
- Familiarity with HR systems and reporting platforms (e.g., ADP) and experience supporting or developing budgeting tools is a plus.

Experience
Minimum 5 years in HR controlling, HR finance, payroll controlling or equivalent roles, preferably within multinational or multi-brand organisations; prior exposure to luxury retail or fashion houses is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Human Resources; advanced degree or professional qualification in finance/accounting is a plus.
