LVMH seeks a Laboratory Manager for Materials Innovation in Saint-Jean-de-Braye, France. Lead long-wear technologies research for cosmetics and fragrance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the Materials Innovation—Long-Wear Technologies Laboratory and drive overall research strategy on ultra-wear performance across makeup, skincare, and fragrance categories
- Develop novel scientific and technological concepts within the assigned scope
- Design and implement new polymer-based material technologies that deliver high-performance long-wear benefits perceived as disruptive by consumers
- Establish and optimize new in vitro characterization methodologies to evaluate, validate, and enhance technology performance
- Establish and expand scientific partnerships with raw material suppliers, emerging technology firms, and academic institutions
- Oversee all laboratory projects from conception to technology transfer; provide sustained technical mentoring to downstream teams
- Manage laboratory budget planning, execution, and alignment with internal stakeholders
- Deliver technical problem-solving expertise across research initiatives
- Prepare weekly progress reports to direct manager
Qualifications
- Master's degree (Bac+5) minimum, ideally PhD, in physical chemistry of materials, polymer science, or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of successful industrial experience, preferably in cosmetics research and development
- Demonstrated expertise in physical-chemical characterization of materials and polymers
- Proven competency in cosmetic formulation development
- Solid experience managing technical teams and leading projects
- Recognized leadership capability, product vision, and ability to align and motivate cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong scientific rigor coupled with collaborative spirit and business acumen

Experience
Minimum 10 years of successful experience in an industrial environment, ideally within cosmetics research, with demonstrated proficiency in physical-chemical characterization, cosmetic formulation, technical team management, and project leadership.
Education
Master's degree (Bac+5) minimum, ideally PhD, in physical chemistry of materials, polymer science, or an equivalent scientific qualification.
