LVMH seeks a General Accountant in Paris to manage accounting and reporting for holding companies, ensuring IFRS and French GAAP compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting operations including fixed asset tracking and bank reconciliations across assigned holding company portfolio
- Maintain dual accounting standards (French GAAP and IFRS) for all entities, ensuring full compliance with Group, IFRS, and French accounting regulations
- Execute monthly closing procedures including provision entries, operating result analysis, preparation and documentation of reporting packages, and inventory adjustment entries
- Present month-end closing options and accounting treatment recommendations to the Accounting and Reporting Manager, including full documentation
- Prepare tax filings including VAT, other tax obligations, tax returns, tax proof certifications, and tax reporting in collaboration with the Tax Department
- Prepare statutory accounts and supporting documentation for Board and shareholder meetings
- Compile comprehensive audit documentation for external auditors and tax authorities
- Participate in cross-functional process improvement and digital transformation projects within the finance function as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience
- Solid foundation in general accounting operations (fixed asset management, bank reconciliation procedures)
- Demonstrated understanding of Group standards, IFRS, and French GAAP regulatory frameworks
- Experience with dual-standard accounting practice preferred
- Knowledge of French tax filings and compliance requirements (VAT, tax returns, tax proof documentation)
- Ability to prepare statutory financial statements and Board/assembly documentation
- Proficiency in audit preparation and coordination with external auditors and tax inspectorates
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience, with demonstrated competency in general ledger operations, closing procedures, and tax compliance. Previous exposure to dual-standard accounting (French GAAP and IFRS) and experience within a multinational or holding company environment is advantageous.
Education
Qualification in accounting, finance, or related discipline (e.g., bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent professional certification such as DEC or DSCG).
