LVMH Fashion Group Japan seeks an experienced Finance and Accounting Director to lead the finance and accounting organization supporting six Maisons (CELINE, LOEWE, GIVENCHY, KENZO, Marc Jacobs, and RIMOWA) in Japan. The role involves establishing and maintaining financial policies, controls, and reporting systems; driving process standardization and automation; and delivering timely, accurate financial insights to support senior management decision-making and business planning. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer of LVMH Fashion Group Japan and position the team as a trusted regional hub for technical expertise, financial guidance, and operational support.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting organization supporting six Maisons, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture through mentorship and guidance
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring transaction accuracy and processing efficiency
  • Oversee tax return preparation by coordinating with third-party service providers, reviewing submissions, and ensuring compliance with filing deadlines
  • Deliver recurring management and analytical reports to headquarters and local management, highlighting key financial results, risks, and issues requiring management attention
  • Oversee daily cash operations, treasury activities, and prepare and review cash flow forecasts
  • Support budget and forecast processes by providing complete, accurate financial data and analysis that strengthen planning reliability
  • Oversee credit management functions, including collections, accounts receivable controls, and credit assessments of customers and business partners
  • Review legal documents and contractual terms affecting finance, accounting, tax, treasury, or internal controls in coordination with legal counsel
  • Establish, document, monitor, and continuously improve procedures supporting effective internal controls and compliance with Group requirements
  • Lead finance change management and process improvement initiatives, including ERP implementation, system integration, and process automation
  • Serve as primary external audit contact, oversee audit documentation preparation and delivery, and ensure timely resolution of audit queries and findings
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls that protect the business and ensure regulatory and Group compliance

Qualifications

  • University degree in Economics, Finance, or Business (or equivalent)
  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification preferred
  • Over 5 years of senior finance or accounting leadership experience at a foreign subsidiary company
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency and business fluency in English
  • Knowledge and experience with accounting operations under both IFRS and JGAAP
  • Experience with SAP implementation projects preferred
  • Demonstrated capability in managing internal and external audit processes
  • Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate, inspire, and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels

Experience

Over 5 years of senior finance or accounting leadership experience at a foreign subsidiary company. Retail industry experience is advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate mastery in both IFRS and JGAAP accounting environments, with proven success in SAP implementation or similar system transformation projects.

Education

University degree in Economics, Finance, or Business. CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is preferred.
