Business Controller position at LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics Singapore; manage marketing expenses and OPEX within a dynamic Asia-Pacific luxury beauty environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing expenses against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and investigating root causes
- Review and approve marketing invoices, ensuring proper coding and adherence to company policies and budgetary limits
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to understand campaigns, projects, and related financial implications
- Prepare monthly accruals and reconciliations for marketing-related expenses
- Assist in the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to marketing spend efficiency
- Support the overall OPEX budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with various department heads to gather inputs and ensure accuracy
- Perform monthly analysis of actual OPEX against budget and prior periods, explaining significant deviations
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all operational expenses in the general ledger
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across various operational areas
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Contribute to the creation of management reports, providing clear and concise financial insights
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, with exposure to expense management
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Experience with financial software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is preferred
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling roles, with demonstrated exposure to expense management and financial process improvement.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
