Maison Francis Kurkdjian (LVMH) seeks a Brand Manager in Chiyoda‑Ku, Tokyo, Japan to lead local brand strategy, marketing and retail for the fragrance maison.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and implement localized brand and market strategies to build awareness, acquire customers and grow sales following the transition from distributor to local subsidiary.
- Conduct in-depth market and consumer research to inform product positioning, assortment, pricing and communication adapted to the Japanese market.
- Adapt and deploy global marketing campaigns, product launches and PR activities to ensure cultural relevance and consistency of brand identity.
- Develop and execute the local CRM strategy to deliver a premium, end-to-end customer experience and maximise lifetime value.
- Oversee retail and distribution presence in Japan, including owned boutiques, retail partners and digital channels to ensure a seamless omnichannel experience.
- Plan and manage events, activations and partnerships that generate brand buzz and strengthen local relevance.
- Partner with the General Manager to define and implement sales strategies, identify new business opportunities and manage relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Monitor sales performance and KPIs, analyse data to identify gaps and implement corrective action plans to achieve revenue and market share targets.
- Lead, mentor and evaluate the local team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Prepare and manage the regional marketing budget in collaboration with the GM, optimising allocation to maximise ROI.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' experience in brand management, marketing or related functions within the luxury goods sector, preferably with fragrance or cosmetics experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing a market transition from distributor to subsidiary or similar market-entry/expansion projects.
- Deep knowledge of Japanese market dynamics, consumer behaviour and cultural nuances.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing, retail and CRM strategies that drive commercial results.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with experience building and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with global teams and external partners.
- Fluency in Japanese and English (verbal and written) is required.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in sales analysis, KPI management and budget oversight.

Experience
Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in luxury brand management, marketing or equivalent roles, with proven leadership responsibility and direct exposure to the Japanese market or a comparable Asia‑Pacific market.
Education
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field; advanced degree (MBA or master's) preferred.
