Assistant Legal Counsel at LVMH in Shanghai. Support legal operations, contracts, compliance, and corporate affairs for luxury retail Maisons across China.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide timely and practical legal support to Maisons on daily operations, commercial transactions, and compliance matters
- Independently draft, review, and negotiate contracts of low to moderate complexity, including marketing, media, influencer, celebrity, event, store operation, and HR service-related agreements
- Review and negotiate boutique operation contracts with landlords, covering storage facilities, digital advertising, and prepaid card arrangements
- Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks in business operations and provide value-added legal advice
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in retail industry sectors such as corporate governance, advertising, and consumer protection, translating findings into actionable business guidance
- Design and deliver targeted legal training sessions to business teams on contract review principles and compliance requirements
- Oversee LVMH China company seal governance and enforce strict approval protocols in compliance with internal policies
- Manage end-to-end corporate affairs tasks including registration, deregistration, change filings, and coordination with government authorities
- Coordinate intellectual property affairs with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage operations and administrative functions of the Legal team
Qualifications
- Qualified PRC lawyer with a bachelor's degree or higher in Law
- Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a top-tier law firm or within the in-house legal team of a multinational corporation
- Strong understanding of China's legal and regulatory landscape, particularly in commercial, advertising, and consumer-facing contexts
- Experience in luxury, retail, or consumer goods highly valued
- Experience in intellectual property protection preferred
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) with ability to operate confidently in a bilingual, multicultural environment
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably gained at a top-tier law firm or within the in-house legal team of a multinational corporation. Experience in luxury, retail, or consumer goods is highly valued. Experience in intellectual property protection is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in Law; PRC lawyer qualification required.
