Accounting Operations Manager at luxury fashion group in Singapore; manage accounting team, oversee financial closing across multiple maisons, lead process improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all month-end and period-end closing activities, including review of team deliverables and monthly submissions to headquarters
  • Manage key transactional accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and proper recognition of revenues, expenses, and accruals in accordance with accounting standards
  • Serve as primary point of contact with Business Planning & Control team to analyze month-end close results, identify risks, and capture opportunities
  • Strengthen internal controls across all transactional accounting functions to prevent errors, fraud, and misstatements
  • Support internal and external audit processes with comprehensive documentation, analysis, and timely resolution of enquiries
  • Lead statutory compliance matters and regulatory requirements relating to accounting operations
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounting processes, particularly for high-volume financial transactions and general ledger management
  • Develop financial reporting tools and frameworks to enhance transparency and decision-making
  • Support finance system setup, upgrades, and enhancements through collaboration with F&A, IS&T, and project teams
  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members to foster accountability and continuous improvement
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, operations, and compliance functions
  • Support ad hoc projects including entity setups, buybacks, liquidations, and special assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or finance operations
  • Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP), internal controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP and finance systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to manage complex accounting matters
  • High attention to detail with demonstrated commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting
  • Proven experience in process improvement, system enhancements, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional communication skills
