Accountant at Fashion Group in Singapore — manage general ledger, month-end close and financial reporting for a luxury fashion maison.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and general ledger maintenance.
- Perform month-end and period-end closing activities to produce timely, accurate financial statements and management packs.
- Maintain accounting records for inventory, fixed assets, bank accounts and other balance sheet items.
- Review and monitor operating expenses, cost allocations and revenue recognition entries.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, schedules and Group reporting for management and business analysis.
- Partner with cross-finance and business operations teams to support reporting needs and financial accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies and internal control frameworks.
- Support internal and external audits, statutory reporting and tax filing requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements leveraging ERP systems and BI tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to ad hoc finance projects, system enhancements and business process optimisation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent; professional accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CA, CPA).
- Minimum five years of professional accounting or audit experience, preferably within retail, fashion or consumer goods.
- Practical knowledge of internal controls, regulatory compliance and audit processes.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS as applicable to the entity.
- Demonstrable attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with business partners.
Skills
Experience
Minimum five years of progressive accounting or audit experience, with hands-on responsibility for general ledger activities, month-end close and statutory reporting; experience in retail or fashion preferred.
Education
Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, CPA) preferred.
