8-month contract Accountant role in Shanghai for luxury fashion group. General Ledger management, financial close, and Asia Pacific accounting support.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finalize accounting entries for the general ledger and manage multi-entity bookkeeping
  • Oversee daily accounts payable and accounts receivable operations in coordination with accounting officers
  • Execute monthly financial close procedures and produce trial balance reviews with supporting schedules
  • Prepare inter-company reconciliation statements and implement necessary follow-up actions
  • Manage inventory reconciliation and maintain the fixed assets register
  • Calculate and control monthly rental expenses across all points of sale
  • Draft and review monthly accruals and rental expense analyses for business planning discussions
  • Perform bank reconciliation and ensure accuracy of cash positions
  • Prepare monthly group reporting submissions via SyRUS system
  • Support the preparation of tax reporting documentation and audited financial statements
  • Participate in internal audit reviews and control assessments
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects including system enhancements, new store openings, and business acquisitions
  • Execute ad hoc accounting tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent; semi-qualified accountant or CPA student member status preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Demonstrated experience handling full sets of books and general ledger for multiple legal entities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English with strong written English communication
  • Proven experience in the retail sector is preferred
  • Expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous

Experience
