Louis Vuitton — Tokyo: Store Planning Project Manager to oversee new-builds and renovations across Japan; Japanese required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage new-build and renovation projects for Louis Vuitton stores across Japan, from concept through completion and post‑opening support.
  • Negotiate and clarify building and legal conditions with landlords and property owners to align commercial and design objectives.
  • Prepare, maintain and control the master project schedule encompassing design, permitting, bidding, approvals, production and construction phases.
  • Coordinate design intent and technical requirements with the Paris Design Department and local design offices, ensuring accurate realisation of international design standards.
  • Control project budgets and quality standards; drive value engineering (VE) proposals in collaboration with local design partners to meet budgetary constraints.
  • Manage procurement and ordering of imported fixtures and equipment, prepare contracts and administer vendor agreements.
  • Conduct on‑site construction inspections, pre‑delivery and completion inspections, and attend one‑year post‑completion inspections as required.
  • Provide ongoing facilities management support to stores post‑opening and report project status to Japan office and France headquarters.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience in architectural design or construction/project management within the architecture sector or commercial facility projects.
  • Proven track record managing retail or commercial fit‑out projects, including scheduling, budget control and quality assurance.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder projects involving external design offices, contractors and corporate headquarters.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is mandatory; business‑level English is desirable. Applicants must submit a Japanese version of their résumé.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe and CAD skills are advantageous.

Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
