Louis Vuitton seeks a Senior Gemologist Buyer in Paris to manage precious stone procurement for haute joaillerie collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of center stones for haute joaillerie collections, including travel to international gem fairs for sourcing activities
- Conduct stone negotiations with the established supplier panel, enter purchase orders, and maintain operational oversight
- Lead the launch and development of high jewelry collection segments through stone research, validation, and vendor RFQ management with specialty cutters and lapidaries
- Validate and integrate stone specifications within the PLM system and coordinate with industrial project managers and jewelry ateliers
- Execute the overall stone supply plan, including quality assurance, recutting and certification validation, and compliance with ethical sourcing and provenance requirements
- Monitor fulfillment of custom orders in coordination with supply chain and manufacturing teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including special order transformation metrics and group compliance policy implementation
Qualifications
- Formal training in Gemmology
- Minimum 8 years of experience in stone procurement within a dedicated gems purchasing function
- Advanced proficiency with procurement and enterprise software, including PLM systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and SAP
- Demonstrated passion for fine jewelry with deep material knowledge spanning creation through production
- Self-directed mindset with ability to propose strategic improvements
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage effectively across diverse expert functions
- High level of written and spoken English

Minimum 8 years of professional experience in stone procurement within a dedicated gems purchasing department. Candidates must demonstrate a track record of managing complex sourcing activities, supplier relationships, and production coordination in luxury goods or jewelry manufacturing contexts.
Education
Formal qualification in Gemmology is required.
