Role & Responsibilities

  • Master multiple engraving techniques autonomously (modeling, bas-relief, high-relief, chasing, intaglio, letterin, decoration, and finishing) according to production requirements and unique specifications
  • Execute manual engravings on various components including dials, cases, movements, bridges, castings, and laser-engraved pieces
  • Interpret aesthetic and technical drawings, propose gravure solutions aligned with specifications, quality standards, costs, and timelines
  • Collaborate with workshop teams to establish and maintain quality standards and share technical expertise on small-series components
  • Mentor and support the engraving team, fostering knowledge transfer and collective skill development
  • Troubleshoot technical issues through problem analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, established standards, and safety protocols within the workshop
  • Perform quality control on completed work

Qualifications

  • Formal training in engraving (AFP – CFC or equivalent certification)
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in watchmaking engraving
  • Demonstrated expertise in volumetric engraving and sculpture
  • Strong understanding of material properties and their application to engraving
  • Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation and blueprint reading
  • Ability to perform quality control inspections independently
  • Proven capability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions
