Louis Vuitton seeks experienced Senior Engraver in Geneva, Switzerland. Master horological engraving techniques in prestigious manufacture.
Role & Responsibilities
- Master and independently execute diverse engraving techniques (modeling, bas-relief, high-relief, chasing, intaglio, lettering, decoration, and finishing) according to production requirements and unique designs
- Perform manual engravings on various horological components including dials, cases, movements, bridges, castings, and other specialized parts
- Interpret aesthetic and technical drawings, propose engraving solutions aligned with specifications, quality standards, costs, and deadlines
- Exchange knowledge and best practices with workshop teams on quality standards and techniques used in small-batch specialized pieces
- Mentor and support team members in skill development and collective expertise advancement, fostering knowledge transfer within the engraving workshop
- Participate in problem-solving efforts including analysis of technical issues and implementation of corrective actions
- Ensure strict adherence to established operating procedures, quality standards, and workshop safety protocols
- Perform self-inspection and quality control on completed work
Qualifications
- Formal qualification in engraving (AFP, CFC, or equivalent recognized certification)
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in horological engraving
- Advanced proficiency in volumetric engraving and sculptural techniques
- In-depth knowledge of material properties relevant to horological components
- Demonstrated artistic and aesthetic sensibility with strong technical drawing aptitude
- Proven ability to interpret and execute technical drawings with precision
- Exceptional manual dexterity, attention to detail, and technical rigor
- Proven capacity for knowledge transfer and mentorship within team environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proactive approach to technical challenges
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of documented professional experience in horological engraving, with demonstrated mastery of multiple engraving techniques and a portfolio of executed work across diverse horological components and materials.
Education
Formal qualification in engraving such as Swiss Federal Certificate (CFC) in Fine Engraving, Advanced Federal Diploma (AFP), or equivalent recognized qualification in engraving craftsmanship.
