Louis Vuitton hires Senior Director, Distribution Planning in New York. Lead supply chain for North America retail network—USD $200K–$260K annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 13 individuals, including 3 senior managers, fostering a high-performance culture and utilizing a coaching approach to develop direct reports
- Cultivate strong collaborative relationships across Demand Planning, Transversal Distribution, Digital, Merchandising (all categories), Retail Regions, and Store operations
- Conduct regular market visits to gather insights and understand evolving retail needs and store-level dynamics
- Monitor product distribution from regional warehouse to stores and e-commerce through data analysis, retail feedback, and merchandising team collaboration
- Define auto-replenishment inventory rules and maximum stock levels to optimize availability rates and sell-through across all categories
- Anticipate inventory requirements for peak seasons and develop enhanced stock availability strategies for high-end luxury categories
- Manage store-to-store rebalancing principles and define delivery information flows to merchandising and retail teams
- Monitor monthly inventory coverage metrics to ensure accuracy and identify optimization opportunities
- Facilitate monthly operational routing sessions with Retail Regions to train teams on supply chain initiatives and guidelines
- Lead the Transformation Team in driving continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice implementations
- Ensure seamless communication and strong working partnerships between Distribution Planning, Merchandising, and Retail teams
- Provide regular, strategic updates to Central Supply Chain teams and LVMH Paris headquarters on performance and initiatives
- Collaborate with the Logistics Director to identify and implement lead time optimization opportunities
- Streamline communication channels with stores to ensure clarity, efficiency, and rapid response to operational needs
- Furnish proactive information to warehouse operations to optimize capacity planning and workload management
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive supply chain or distribution planning experience in luxury retail or related sectors
- Proven expertise in leading and developing high-performing teams with demonstrated coaching and mentoring capability
- Outstanding analytical skills applied to supply chain management and transformation project execution
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain standard operating procedures and change management principles
- Proficiency in Order Management Systems, Anaplan, and Power BI
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive agility, continuous innovation, and seize new operational opportunities
