Louis Vuitton seeks experienced Quality Control Specialist in Florence. Lead raw materials quality, supplier management, and continuous improvement in luxury leather goods manufacturing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead staff training and coaching on quality control procedures, developing curriculum materials and conducting both theoretical and hands-on assessment sessions
- Conduct regular audits of quality control processes and implement preventive and corrective actions to optimize performance and monitor KPIs
- Manage equipment calibration and measurement system oversight to ensure continued accuracy of all quality testing
- Design and facilitate training on safety, quality, and ergonomic standards, promoting quality culture through awareness events and best practice communication
- Oversee incoming inspection of complex raw materials, particularly leather, and maintain a current master management system for quality control
- Manage quality system documentation, ensuring conformity to current standards, and coordinate internal and external audits
- Handle material alert identification and analysis, transmitting specific quality criteria to suppliers and QC personnel
- Lead complex alert resolution projects in collaboration with suppliers, managing non-conformances proactively to prevent production disruptions
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in raw materials quality control, preferably in leather goods or luxury manufacturing
- Advanced knowledge of quality control materials, methodologies, and problem-solving frameworks
- Proven expertise in supplier quality management and alert management processes
- Strong command of quality management systems and documentation protocols
- Demonstrated capability to work effectively under pressure while resolving critical quality issues
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in quality control for raw materials, with demonstrated expertise in leather goods or comparable luxury manufacturing environments. Prior experience managing supplier relationships, conducting quality alert resolution, and implementing quality improvements is essential.
Education
Technical education or certification in quality management, materials science, or equivalent discipline is preferred. Relevant quality certifications (such as ISO 9001 auditor certification or equivalent) are advantageous.
